Dallas Christmas Festival: located in Plano; taking place in the Worship Center of Prestonwood Baptist Church. The performance has three acts involving the pop culture Christmas, soloists and a traditional choir singing Christmas favorites and a celebration of Jesus Christ. Past performances have featured live animals, dancing Christmas trees and special effects. Dallas Symphony Orchestra's Christmas Concerts: check the website calendar for concert descriptions. 2008's schedule includes Michael W. Smith with DSO and "The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller." ICE! and Lone Star Christmas: taking place in Grapevine; featuring Santa Claus, live reindeer, electric train displays, a life-size gingerbread house, music and more. The ICE! exhibit features many ice sculptures and some ice slides. The Arlington Nativity Display: featuring a collection of over 1,500 Nativity sets from around the world, three days of musical performances, and a special Christmas devotional. Texas Ballet Theater's Presentation of the Nutcrackers: offering several performances of the classic holiday ballet presentation. Neiman Marcus Adolphus Childrens Parade: the parade enjoys crowds of more than 350,000 in downtown Dallas. Sundance Square's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony: the lighting of the downtown Fort Worth Christmas tree. Visit with Santa each weekend near the tree. |
